Yesterday we said that we are worthy of God. Today we are going to firm it up and apply to real-life experiences, having as a point of reference the quotation of the photo: a castle of diamonds and crystal.
Heaven is a castle with a centre, Teresa reads in Laredo: Christ, dead and risen, surrounded by Mary, the Father, The Holy Spirit, the angels and the blessed. Its walls are of diamonds, or very clear crystal. The temple in Jerusalem is a copy of Heaven, according to the book of Tobit and to the book of Revelation.
Teresa goes a step further: Heaven is within you. Your heart is Heaven, where God comes to enjoy and rest. We are created to Heaven´s image. You are a copy. Get inside and stay there with the God who dwells in you.
There is a second meaning, Maria Magdalena. Saint Teresa identifies herself with Maria Magdalena because she is a woman and a sinner. She accepts a medieval tradition coming from Santiago de la Voragine. The three brothers, Lazarus, Martha and herself were rich, and inherited three castles. The first church is created in Martha´s house-castle.
Maria Magdalena was a kind of secretary for the Virgin Mary. They used to go with Jesus and the apostles. Teresa is the new Maria Magdalena, who follows Jesus along with the Virgin.
To put into practice:
Choose a model in following Christ – in addition to the Virgin Mary – you can imitate and may help you approach Jesus.
Enter into yourself with your beauty and dignity. You are heaven. Make a space for God and stay there enjoying Him. Tell Him things. He is listening to you. You are praying.
