Translated from the original by Ana Giménez.
Everything is concentrated in Jesus Christ in the second mansion, in my opinion. To know and love to whom “calls” us in different ways to follow Him. In a single chapter the essence of Teresa´s itinerary is summarised.
We are going to concentrate today in the sentence in the picture (“Oh souls redeemed by Jesus Christ´s blood!”). We are “redeemed”, that means, we are saved. In my childhood we were told that salvation was heaven which was gained or lost according to our behaviour. Nevertheless, Teresa tells us something really different: we have already been redeemed from any slavery, we are already saved, “redeemed”. Salvation is a free gift and a task. It is hard for us to believe.
Yesterday, with a small group of young people, we asked ourselves about the meaning of salvation in our lives. Summarising we said: thanks to Him we can find an answer to the big questions which give sense to our lives and this avoids the feeling of emptiness; salvation is getting back together with Him and reaching to the end of our lives full of love towards the others.
Jesus Christ takes us beyond our limits; salvation is a gift to step out of ourselves, from selfishness, and meet the others; saved by Him, we learn to love, to live devoted to others without looking for personal interest. And, what is salvation for you?
We “don´t go to mass”, we go “to participate in the Eucharist”, which means “thanksgiving” for the salvation granted freely by Christ. We should respond to this enormous gift with a life according to His will.
I suggest that you read whenever you can, chapter 22 from Life and Mansions 6.7. We find there the ways to answer to Jesus´s calls from his “very sacred Humanity”. Don´t omit revising Life 11-13 and Mansion 2
With His help, prayer and action, we will become “true lovers”.
